Clear-Com at NAB a series of innovative products for professional communication, highlighting the latest wireless and digital technologies. In particular, the main focus was on the FreeSpeak Icon.
FREESPEAK ICON
The new FreeSpeak Icon is an advanced wireless belt pack that includes eight user-assignable buttons in a new design. This device incorporates a 1.9 gigahertz radio to connect to standard FreeSpe2 1.9 transceiver antennas. The belt pack is equipped with speaker and microphone mode and includes Bluetooth 5.3 for connecting to newer Bluetooth headsets.
The four buttons on the front are independently controlled by the rotary controls on either side and the up/down volume controls. It’s also possible to use the same controls to manage the four upper buttons through a shift function.
The belt packs connect to FreeSpeak 2 1.9 transceiver antennas, both in the E1 model and IP transceivers connected via network through AS67 audio. They can be connected to the same network as FreeSpeak 2 1.9 belt packs on platforms such as Arcadia, FreeSpeak Edge, and Eclipse Matrix frames.
HELIX NET 4KEY
Also on display is the new Helix Net 4key belt pack, a device with a four-key format that integrates with the existing Helixet digital party line platform. This device can connect to the Arcadia main station, the HRM remote station, the HKV wall station, and the existing two-channel Helix Net belt pack.
V SERIES IRIS X
One of the most interesting elements is the V series Iris X panel connectivity with Arcadia. This connection occurs via IV direct, Clear-Com’s proprietary protocol that connects Arcadia to the panel. Everything is controlled through the CCM control system, which provides real-time control to all user stations and ports within the system.
The system is accessible via web browser from any computer or tablet connected to Arcadia’s administrative network. In real time, it’s possible to make changes to the V series panel, for example redirecting a single panel from any existing party line, creating direct connections between ROS, or configuring direct communications from system ports such as four wire, two wire, IV direct ports, or even Dante audio ports.
SYSTEM CAPACITY
The system can manage up to 64 wireless belt packs (including FreeSpeak Icon, FreeSpeak 2, or FreeSpeak Edge) and can connect up to 32 IP transceivers on Arcadia, offering great capacity for users and coverage for very large areas.
Regarding Helixet, it’s possible to connect up to 128 total Helixet endpoints via IP or through power line connection using the new DPL power line converter released about a year ago. Within Arcadia, there is also the capability to connect up to 64 Dante audio streams in and out of the system.
